How Auto Bandits Negotiated Two Mazda Leases, Three Trade-Ins & Negative Equity
Auto Bandits Deal Case Study • September 2026
Two new vehicles. Three trade-ins. Negative equity. Competing dealer offers. One transaction that required a lot of moving parts.
Auto Bandits, a new-car buying concierge and negotiation service, helped this client lease two new Mazdas while negotiating all three trade-ins through the dealership and coordinating the transaction through delivery.

Deal at a Glance
- New vehicles: 2026 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus and 2026 Mazda CX-50 2.5 S Premium
- Transaction: Two 36-month / 15,000-mile leases
- Due at signing: $500 per vehicle
- Trade-ins: Three vehicles
- Negative equity: Approximately $10,000
- Dealer strategy: Competing dealership offers
- Delivery: Both new vehicles delivered and all three trade-ins picked up by the dealership
The Challenge
This was one of the most complicated transactions Auto Bandits has handled.
The client needed two new vehicles at the same time:
- 2026 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus
- 2026 Mazda CX-50 2.5 S Premium
The transaction also involved three trade-ins:
- 2017 Lexus IS 300
- 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV
- 2016 Ford Transit T-150
Together, the trades carried approximately $10,000 in negative equity that had to be accounted for as part of the new leases.
The goal was not simply to find two vehicles. Auto Bandits had to compare competing lease offers, evaluate the trade values, negotiate the overall transaction, and help coordinate a structure that worked across both new vehicles and all three trades.
The Vehicles & Lease Terms
2026 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium Plus

36 months / 15,000 miles per year
Due at signing:
$500
Highest lease offer received:
$962/month
Final negotiated offer:
$792/month
The client’s final payment was approximately $801/month after the applicable negative equity was incorporated into the transaction.
2026 Mazda CX-50 2.5 S Premium
Lease term:
36 months / 15,000 miles per year
Due at signing:
$500
Highest lease offer received:
$699/month
Final negotiated offer:
$522/month
Three Trade-Ins, Negotiated as Part of the Deal
The client also needed to dispose of three existing vehicles.
Auto Bandits did not purchase the trade-ins and the vehicles were not sold to Carvana.
Third-party market values could be used as reference points when evaluating the dealership’s trade offers, but the actual trade-in transaction was negotiated with and completed through the Mazda dealership as part of the new vehicle leases.
This allowed the entire transaction — two new leases and three outgoing vehicles — to be coordinated together.
Why Competing Dealer Offers Mattered
The range between dealer offers illustrates why negotiating with more than one dealership can matter.
For the CX-90, lease offers reached as high as $962 per month before Auto Bandits secured a $792-per-month offer on the client’s requested lease structure.
For the CX-50, offers reached as high as $699 per month before Auto Bandits secured a $522-per-month offer.
That represented a $170-per-month spread on the CX-90 and a $177-per-month spread on the CX-50 between the highest and lowest negotiated lease offers.
Rather than relying on a single dealership’s proposal, Auto Bandits created competition for the client’s business and compared the overall transaction — including the two new vehicles and the trade-ins.
Delivery Without the Dealership Runaround
Once the transaction was finalized, the dealership coordinated delivery of both new Mazdas and pickup of the trade-in vehicles.
The client did not have to separately coordinate the disposition of three vehicles while taking delivery of two new ones.
Auto Bandits remained involved through the transaction to help verify the agreed terms and coordinate the moving pieces.
What This Deal Shows
Multiple Vehicles
Auto Bandits can coordinate negotiations when a client needs more than one new vehicle.
Trade-In Negotiation
Trade values can be negotiated as part of the overall new-car transaction rather than treated as an afterthought.
Negative Equity
When negative equity is involved, the full transaction should be evaluated rather than focusing only on the advertised monthly payment.
Dealer Competition
Competing dealership offers can reveal substantial differences in pricing for the same requested transaction.
The Bottom Line
This deal involved far more than asking a dealership for its best price.
Auto Bandits coordinated competing offers for two new Mazda leases, negotiated three trade-ins, accounted for negative equity, compared the overall transaction, and stayed involved through delivery and pickup.
For clients with complicated transactions, evaluating all of the moving pieces together can be just as important as negotiating the price of the new vehicle itself.
